Free Your Body, Free Your Mind
Body, mind, and spirit are closely intertwined; when the body is weak, it affects the mind and willpower. Thus, freeing the body from exhaustion also liberates the mind.
Many inquire if I ever feel disillusioned with life. Well, truth be told, occasionally I do. 'Disillusionment' is a natural feeling that arises when our physical and mental selves are weary. Specifically, it occurs when reality doesn't align with our expectations.
Therefore, the more one denies reality, the more futile and despondent life becomes.
Pay attention, whenever your body feels exhausted, especially during illness, the sensation of 'life weariness' hits you hard. It drains you, numbs your rationality, and fills your mind with negativity and pessimism.
Body, mind, and spirit are tightly interconnected; when the body is weak, it weakens the mind and willpower as well. Therefore, liberating the body from exhaustion simultaneously liberates the mind.
That's why whenever someone asks me about any life issue, I always advise, 'Go exercise... Remember, be consistent for three consecutive months, at least four times a week... If you don't do it right, you have to start counting from scratch.'
Once, a lady asked me about her family issues—conflicts with her husband and in-laws, heading towards divorce but stuck with several kids, unsure of what to do. I encouraged her to exercise, but she just stared blankly. When she asked about marriage, why did I suggest exercise?
Now she's out of solutions, feeling disillusioned and exhausted. The more she tries to think, the more stuck she feels. Just start exercising first, persist for 3 months, temporarily put those issues aside. Just commit to exercising regularly, at least 4 times a week, if any week falls short, start counting from scratch.
She immediately reacted, 'What's the point of exercising when I'm feeling down!!!' - That's the core issue, folks. The more disheartened you feel, the more diligently you must exercise to break free from that feeling of disillusionment.
Why is that? When you commit to exercising or playing sports for 3 months, even if you're not in the mood, you still have to discipline yourself to do it.
After the first month, you'll notice a change in mood immediately. By the second month, your mind will feel significantly liberated... by the third month, you'll find solutions to previous issues... because at that point, your mind will be clear, or at least even if you haven't found perfect solutions, you'll stop overthinking and diving headfirst into self-destructive games.
Exercise releases a lot of happiness hormones, when your blood and energy flow, you'll sleep and eat better. When everything is running smoothly, you won't feel stuck or blocked anymore. That's the key.
So when feeling disillusioned or stuck, don't gather for drinks to drown your sorrows... instead, grab a carrot smoothie to clear your mind and drag this sluggish body to exercise immediately.
A sip of alcohol, a bit of medication, it's okay, but you need to realize, it's just a temporary solution. The long road is still about improving your physical health... exercise is the most effective method in the game of life, if not, do household chores, tidy up, cook, as long as it's sweat-inducing activity, and it must be consistent... because cleaning up for a few days then stopping is as good as nothing.
Feeling stuck in your career? Hit the gym. Even if it means doing grunt work, you'll be more likely to land a job and carry yourself with confidence because of your health.
Feeling romantically stagnant? Get into sports. Even if you can't hold onto anyone, a fit and attractive body will attract all sorts of creatures to you, and sometimes the next catch might be even sweeter because you've leveled up.
In general, feeling bored or stuck in life? Just hit the gym, it's miraculous. Sounds simple but hard to follow, those who can adhere to it will instantly feel less disillusioned with life.
Exercise liberates the body, a healthy body simultaneously liberates the mind. Because telling someone exhausted to go meditate, chant, or pray only makes them more fatigued.
Once you've liberated your body, then supplement it with practices like effective Meditation for the Mind. Speaking of meditation, it's not something lofty; it's simply sitting quietly, relaxing, observing, noting whatever arises in the mind, and over time, your mind will be more serene. Simply put, it's exercise for the mind. There are many tools, and meditation is just one of them.
There were times when I felt utterly disillusioned because everything seemed to hit at once. Luckily, I've maintained the habit of exercising for many years, so every day, my mind gets refreshed, and I can see the crux of the problem.
There will be moments when you're in a situation - where no matter what, you'll suffer losses, but if you have health and a steady mind, your resilience will be higher. And remember, what is born will also perish, difficulties included; they come and they go, so in the game of life, those who persevere will win.
