The 6th Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Festival of the Khmer Ethnic Group in Kiên Giang Province is set to take place from November 27 to November 29, 2012, in Gò Quao district, Kiên Giang province.
This year, the festival is expected to attract more than 26 delegations from various communes, districts, towns, and cities within the province, as well as from Hậu Giang and Bạc Liêu provinces.
Various cultural, sports, and tourism activities infused with the rich Khmer cultural heritage are organized, such as the Beautiful Water Pavilion Contest, Khmer Arts Festival, and sports competitions (canoe racing, dragon boat racing, three-leaf boat racing, Taekwondo competition, Khmer ethnic 11-a-side football tournament, Khmer ethnic volleyball tournament, etc.). Especially, the Khmer Art Troupe and the Kiên Giang Folk Opera Troupe will perform to entertain the local community on the evenings of November 28 and 29, 2012.
