Both Windows Edition and Royal Edition expand gameplay areas, specifically Insomnia City Ruins and complete control of the Royal Vessel. Additionally, there's a first-person camera mode allowing players to view the world through Noctis' eyes, along with new character actions and weapons accessible through new game areas.
There are also numerous new interfaces and items, access to the Season Pass content, and a collection of new titles and achievements.
Moving to exclusive features for the Windows Edition, FFXV supports gameplay in 4K and 8K resolution, 120 frames per second, along with HDR10 support for dynamic range. However, it's worth noting that the Royal Edition running on Xbox One X doesn't support these features, despite the console's support.
Furthermore, the game integrates Nvidia GameWorks and HairWorks for better overall lighting and visual effects. Regarding this matter, Nvidia and AMD have released additional GPU driver optimizations specifically for FFXV. Nvidia also supports the Ansel screenshot feature. FFXV also supports AlienFX, to integrate with RGB lighting on AlienWare systems, and gameplay through Tobii Eye Tracking.
Square Enix ensures potential buyers of the Windows Edition with a quality port, providing details, optimized features on PC such as full mouse and keyboard support, 21:9 widescreen support, and Windows Sonic support.
The PC release version will include all DLCs released for console versions in the past 2 years and even support modding, but it's unclear how it will function for the version on the Microsoft Store.
