How to Search for Friends on Facebook
1. Find your friends quickly on your computer
Enter your friends' names, phone numbers, or emails into the search bar at the top of the Facebook interface and press Enter (or the search icon) to search.
A list of Facebook profiles matching your search keywords will be displayed.
You can also find friends by viewing suggestions of people you may know by selecting Friends icon -> Find Friends.
Here, you'll find friend requests from others requesting to connect with you. Simply scroll down to the section People You May Know and search for friends you desire.
2. How to find friends from your mobile phone or email account
On your Facebook homepage, enter the names of friends you wish to find into the search box and press search to search for friends.
Alternatively, you can search for friends by selecting the menu icon three horizontal lines -> Friends.
Select Suggestions for Facebook to suggest people you may know, where you can search for friends.
How to send friend requests on Facebook
After finding friends, you can add them by selecting Add Friend to send friend requests on Facebook.
Alternatively, you can click on the name of a person in a comment or post to open their profile page.
Then press Add Friend to send your friend request.
On mobile, you can send friend requests by searching for friends and selecting the add friend icon as shown below to send your friend request.
Or on the profile page of the person you want to befriend, select Add Friend.
You can also tap the menu icon three horizontal lines and select Friends.
Select the suggested section to find friends you want to connect with and click Add Friend to send them a friend request.
On the profile, the Add Friend button will be located below the profile picture and name of the person. If you don't see the Add Friend button, it means this person has hidden it to avoid friend requests, or they have set the friends of friends mode to only accept friend requests from mutual friends.
