Firefox 56 discontinues support for Adobe Flash on Android devices

Adobe Flash plugin has never been officially supported on Android 4.1 and later. Despite some hacking tricks keeping it alive for a while, it's finally seeing its end with Firefox 56. Firefox, among other browsers, used to support Adobe Flash on compatible devices. However, with the upcoming major update, Firefox 56 puts an end to Adobe Flash support on Android.

Mozilla previously announced that Firefox 56 would cease to support Adobe Flash on Android. This move aligns with the company's plan, as Adobe Flash is scheduled to be deprecated across all platforms by the end of 2020.

Firefox Beta for Android 56 marks the first version requiring Android 4.1 or above, which is why the browser no longer supports Flash. Currently, Firefox Beta doesn't function on Android versions that support Flash anymore.
