Mozilla plans to release version Firefox 58.0, or Firefox Quantum, for Linux, Windows, and macOS on January 23. Firefox 58.0 is the first web browser version to integrate built-in security patches, addressing Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities that could allow attackers to steal sensitive user data.
Firefox 58 is officially launching next week, promising improved speed.
In addition to Firefox 58.0, Firefox Quantum introduces a new feature to enhance speed using online compilation tools, allowing the web browser to compile code while downloading. It also includes a new basic compiler promising 15 times faster code compilation than the optimized compiler for accelerated WebAssembly.
One notable acceleration feature is the online compiler, where the browser compiles code while it is still being downloaded. According to Lin Clark, Firefox 58 also incorporates a new compiler. The new basic compilers will compile code 10-15 times faster than the optimized compiler. Learn how to update Firefox here
Here are the new features in Firefox 58.0
Among the new features that Mozilla introduces in the release of Firefox 58.0, WebVR technology has been activated for Mac OS X users. The update includes an automatic form-filling feature that remembers even credit card details, blocks canvas and fingerprinting, optimizes page loading speed with JavaScript cache memory, and now supports the Nepali (ne-NP) language.
Firefox 58.0 also enhances the webpage display speed for Windows users with Off-Main-Thread Painting technology, discarding downgrades from previous versions, and addressing reported issues from the previous release.
In internal release notes, Mozilla also points out occasional issues faced by Firefox on Linux and Windows using Intel Broadwell-U processors with outdated microcode. To resolve the issue, Linux users should install the latest Intel microcode firmware, and Windows users need to install all the latest Windows Update patches.
Ahead of the official launch of Firefox 58 next week, with improved speed, you can download the latest version of this browser and experience it on your device.

Not only browsers like Firefox are concerned about page loading speed, but also Google's search engine prioritizes fast-loading websites on mobile devices through the Speed Update policy. However, they will still prioritize websites with quality content alongside fast loading speeds.
