The latest version of Firefox 59 for desktop was released for all supported platforms not long ago, including GNU/Linux, macOS, and Windows. Recently, the Android version was also released on the Google Play Store. In addition to performance improvements and security bug fixes, Firefox 59 for Android is the first version to support HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) video playback.
'On Firefox for Android, we've added support for streaming video websites using the HLS protocol,' shared Mozilla.

Enhancements to private browsing mode and the addition of the Assist App.
Firefox 59 for Android enables users to lock videos in fullscreen mode in landscape, enhances private browsing to prevent third-party data leaks by eliminating referral information from introduction pages sent to third-party websites when accessing a site, and removes the 'about:' page.
Mozilla recommends Android users use the 'About Firefox' dialog instead of the 'about:' page to find any information they need about the web browser. Additionally, in this release, Mozilla also adds the Assist App on Firefox 59 for Android instead of the Firefox Search widget as before, allowing Android users to search the web by long-pressing the Home button on their devices.
Finally, Android users can effortlessly switch between websites as web apps that they can run on the Home Screen, as well as play FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) audio files.
Firefox 59 also adds support for Bengali and Nepali (ne-NP) languages.
