While browsing the web, Firefox always records the history of visited websites, cookies, user information, and passwords. When this data accumulates over time, it may lead to issues such as browser not completing a process, login failures, etc. Firefox stores this browsing history data on the hard drive in files, containing information about date, time, and web addresses of the accessed pages.

Step 1: Open Firefox browser, at the main interface press Alt on the keyboard, then select Tools\Options
Step 2: In this step, choose the Privacy (1) tab, under Firefox will select Use custom settings for history (2) to access the custom history settings.
Step 3: At this step, check the box Clear history when Firefox closes (1) to enable automatic clearing of history when Firefox is closed, then select Settings… (2) to configure the deletion settings.
Step 4: In this step, we see two main sections: History and Data. We can select or deselect to enable or disable the deletion of history for those items.
- History includes:
+ Browsing & Download History: includes web browsing information and download history.
+ Active Logins: information about logged-in users.
+ Form & Search History: history of form input and searches.
+ Cookies: cookies.
+ Cache: cache files.
- Data includes:
+ Saved Passwords: information of entered passwords.
+ Site Preferences: favorite websites (or frequently accessed).
+ Offline Website Data: data from websites accessed while offline.
After selecting the necessary parameters, click OK (1), then choose OK (2) to start using the automatic history deletion feature after each browsing session.
