By default, the Firefox browser does not have the capability to block a specific website. However, we can block websites by using a browser extension (add-on) specifically designed for Firefox called Blocksite. Here, Mytour will guide you on how to block any website on Firefox using the Blocksite program.
Guide to Blocking Websites in Firefox
Step 1: Access the Firefox add-ons page
Open Firefox, click on the Firefox menu at the top left corner, then select Add-ons
Step 2
- When the add-ons page opens, type blocksite into the Search box and press Enter to let Firefox search for the BlockSite program
- Next, the list of extensions will be displayed below. Click on the Install button next to the Blocksite add-on and wait for the program to finish installing.
- After the installation is complete, Firefox will display a notification asking you to restart the browser to use the add-on. Click on Restart Now to restart Firefox.
Step 3: After Firefox restarts, click on the Extension section, then select Options for Blocksite.
- The Blocksite window will appear. Check the box Enable link removal (if it hasn't been selected before, if it has, then skip this step) and click Add to add the website address you want to block.
- Type the web address you want to block into the Location box. For example, www.kenh14.vn, then click OK
Step 4: If you want to set a password to prevent others from easily unblocking the website you just blocked, you can click on the Enable authentication box and enter a password, then click OK
That's it. Next time, others won't be able to access the website you just blocked.
Additionally, with Blocksite for Firefox, this extension can also be installed on browsers like Google Chrome, Coc Coc, or Opera. You can explore more about it.
