Stories will appear via Pocket for Firefox, a tool that allows users to save web pages for later reading. Once a web page is saved, Pocket will suggest other articles that users may be interested in based on web pages bookmarked by other users.
Firefox is currently testing Sponsored Stories in a new browser tab
Since the debut of Firefox Quantum last year, users in the US, Canada, and Germany have reported seeing 3 of the suggested stories from Pocket every time they click the New Tab button.
As explained by Mozilla in a blog post: 'The suggested stories are curated from millions of items saved in Pocket every day, so they will display content worth reading and watching on the web'.
Firefox is currently testing Sponsored Stories in a new browser tab with a small group of users in the US who have enrolled in the Firefox Beta testing program.
Quality Control
Mozilla emphasizes that sponsored content is of high quality and users can completely disable it if they wish. Additionally, Sponsored stories will also be clearly marked.
'We believe we can create a platform that supports high-quality content, respects users' privacy, and provides user control,' according to Mozilla.
Not only Mozilla, but Microsoft is also focusing on developing its Teams service. With Microsoft Teams updating new features, the user experience becomes better and simpler than ever. From today, you can experience these new features.
