Step 1: Access Command Prompt (admin) with the highest administrative privileges by right-clicking on the Start menu > selecting Command Prompt (admin).
Step 2: In Command Prompt (admin), enter the following command line:
netsh wlan show drivers
This command line displays whether your computer supports the virtual private network feature and supports broadcasting Wi-Fi hotspot from the computer or not.
If supported, you will see a line stating: Hosted network supported: yes
If not supported, you proceed with the trick to broadcast Wi-Fi from the computer using Wifi Hotspot in Windows 10. This trick utilizes the command lines available in the Command Prompt. You will need to enable the following command in Command Prompt to activate the Wi-Fi broadcasting feature on Windows 10.
Step 3: If you have completed step 2 but still cannot activate the mobile hotspot feature and fix the We can’t set up mobile hotspot error, you can try the following method.
Access Network sharing by right-clicking on the network icon and selecting Open Network and Sharing Center, then choose Change advanced sharing center.
Right-click on the network icon, select Open Network and Sharing Center.
Step 4: In the Guest or Public section, enable and activate Turn on network discovery under Network discovery.
Step 5: Then, go back and select the Change adapter settings option. Depending on your current network connection, right-click and select Properties on the primary network connection.
Step 6: Switch to the Sharing tab > Check the box Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection. Click OK to save the settings.

Check the box Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection. Click OK to save changes.
Go back and successfully activate Mobile Hotspot from Off to On.
After enabling Wifi Hotspot on Windows 10, you also need to reset the Wifi name and password in the Network name and Network password section.
In case after successfully activating Mobile Hotspot on Windows 10, but still unable to broadcast wifi, the reason could be that you enabled the feature in the Sharing tab with the wrong network connection. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Go back to the Change Advanced Setting interface in Network and Sharing Center. You will see Local Area Connection 12, which is the virtual private network used to broadcast wifi on Win 10.
Step 2: Right-click on the Ethernet network and select Properties.
Step 3: Switch to the Sharing tab > check the box Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s Internet connection. Then select the activated virtual wireless network to broadcast wifi on Win 10 to mobile devices.
