Guide: Repairing a Faulty iPhone Home Button at Home
Here are some handy tips to help you troubleshoot and fix a faulty iPhone home button at home.
Method 1: Virtual Home Button
When the Home button on your iPhone is unstable, the first thing to consider is using the virtual home button as a substitute for the physical one that is malfunctioning or broken.
Step 1 : Go to Settings on your device screen > Then select General to enable the virtual home button.
Step 2 : Here, navigate to Accessibility > Then search for the AssistiveTouch feature to activate the virtual home button on your iPhone device.
Step 3 : Finally, activate this Assistive Touch feature, and on the screen, a Home button icon with various functions will immediately appear, completely replacing the physical Home button on the device.
Method 2: Cleaning the Home Button
The instability of the Home button can also result from dirt accumulation. To remedy this, you'll need isopropyl alcohol with a concentration of 98-99% (available at phone repair shops). Use a clean cotton swab or a small, clean, previously washed eye dropper to hold the alcohol.
Directly apply 2-3 drops of isopropyl alcohol onto the Home button, taking care to prevent it from spreading onto the screen. Then, use a small, blunt, soft object like a pencil eraser to gently press the Home button, allowing the alcohol to seep into the frame. Afterward, wipe clean and wait for 10-15 minutes before testing the Home button's functionality again.
Method 3: Adjusting the Connection Port on iPhone
After extended use, the connection port on the iPhone may become misaligned due to frequent charging. This misalignment can affect the Home button as well. To address this issue, insert a USB cable into the iPhone, then gently push the 30-pin dock connector downwards to push the Home button upwards. Press the Home button while performing this pushing motion.
Method 4: Calibrating the Home Button
