Understanding the Role and Repair of Washing Machine Drain Valves
What is a Washing Machine Drain Valve?
The washing machine drain valve, also known as the pull valve or discharge valve, helps the machine to drain water during operation. This ensures that water inside the washing machine is refreshed at each washing stage, contributing to cleaner clothes.

Structure and Operating Principle of Washing Machine Drain Valves
Operating Principle
The working principle of the washing machine drain valve is controlled by a 220V electromagnetic valve. There are two types of electromagnetic valves: AC voltage-operated and DC current-operated valves.
When electricity flows through the coil, it creates an electromagnetic field and automatically opens the drain valve. At this point, water inside the washing machine is drained out through the water pipe. When electricity stops flowing through the coil, the valve closes, keeping water in the washing drum to continue the washing cycle.
Structure
In terms of structure, the washing machine drain valve has a relatively simple construction, consisting of two main components:
- Small-sized electromagnetic motor with a rotor (a type of permanent magnet)
3. Dấu hiệu cho thấy van xả nước bị hỏng

- If your washing machine's drain valve control circuit board malfunctions, it prevents the valve from operating.
To address this, check inside the washing machine's drain valve or drain hose for any dirt buildup. Clean these parts thoroughly if necessary.
- Next, inspect and adjust the position of the drain hose, ensuring it's not placed too high above the valve.

If the drain pump is faulty, replace it to resolve the issue.
- For a malfunctioning valve control circuit, disconnect the part and measure the voltage between the valve's two connectors. If it reads 220V, the valve is faulty; if lower, the circuit board is faulty. Replace as needed to avoid interruptions in your washing machine's operation.

- If you lack expertise in washing machine repairs, refrain from attempting DIY fixes. Contact an authorized service center or skilled technician for assistance.
