1. Formula Not Updating Due to Text Format
When formulas fail to update and show results, it's likely due to the data format being set as Text. This means that even if you input characters, including an equal sign at the beginning, Excel won't recognize it as a computational function but merely as text.
To display function results, change the Text format in the Number group under the Home ribbon to General or Number.
It's best to keep it in General format to let Excel automatically format function formulas and accurately format data cells.

To exit this mode and return to default, open the File ribbon on the toolbar. Then click on Options in the File options list.
In the Excel Options function window, click to open the Formulas tab. In the Calculation options section, select Automatic under Workbook Calculations instead of Manual.
Finally, click OK to confirm the changes.
