Google Chrome doesn't always connect to the internet when you're using wifi or wired networks. Many cases arise where Chrome fails to access the internet, and you're unsure how to address the error of Chrome not accessing the internet while other apps and browsers work fine.
To resolve Internet connection issues on Chrome browser, you'll need the assistance of an app called Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics. Visit the Chrome Web Store online to download Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics to your device and install it.

After downloading and installing, access Chrome's app menu to open Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics. If using Google Chrome browser on Windows, Linux, or macOS, you can open the app menu by clicking Apps on the bookmark bar.
On Chromebook, you can open Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics by clicking the menu button at the bottom-left corner, finding and opening the app, or clicking the Search button, then typing Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics to search and open the app.
Once Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics launches, the app will proceed to check for Internet connection issues and display a progress bar to indicate the ongoing testing process. This process will take a few minutes, so all you need to do is patiently wait until the process finishes.
After the process finishes, Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics will display all detected issues. If everything is fine with no issues, the app will show a green checkmark as depicted in the image below.
If there are any issues, Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics will notify you of where the problem occurred. Click on each test item to view detailed information. In case any test item fails, at least the information provided will suggest solutions to troubleshoot the issue.
Additionally, there are options to customize the app. To customize the app, click on the gear icon at the top-right corner, check the Hide passing tests option. This action hides results that passed the test section, showing only problematic results for users to easily identify issues and find solutions faster.
Although Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics is an extremely useful tool, it's only helpful in cases where issues have not yet occurred. If you wait until issues arise, it will be too late.
If using Chrome Connectivity Diagnostics doesn't resolve your internet connection issue on Chrome browser, try checking with other browsers or programs to see if there's an issue with your home internet. If the issue indeed lies with the general internet connection, then explore solutions to fix Windows internet connection issues. Good luck, everyone!
