Alongside Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome stands out as a top choice for most users when seeking a perfect web browser. However, for some reason, certain computers experience no issues with this browser, while others frequently face troubles, exemplified by the Google Chrome error of being unable to connect to the Internet.
Resolving Google Chrome Internet Connection Error
Method 1: Restarting modem/router
Similar to many other electronic devices, when facing unknown issues, the best approach to try is restarting the device. The inability to access favorite websites on Chrome may sometimes be due to network connection issues. To resolve this, turn off the modem/router and wait for about 30 seconds before turning it back on.

In the Internet Properties window, go to the Connections > LAN Settings tab.
Uncheck the box next to Use a proxy server for your LAN, then press OK to save the changes.
Method 4: Uninstall web filtering programs or software

Step 1: Right-click on the network icon in the bottom right corner of the screen and select Open Network and Sharing Center.
Step 2: In the Network and Sharing Center window, click on the network you are using.
Step 3: The network status window appears; continue by clicking on Properties
Step 4: Next, double-click on the option Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) to change the default DNS server to Google DNS or OpenDNS.
Step 5: On the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) window, click on the option Use the following DNS server address and enter Google's DNS addresses as follows:

Method 6: Change Registry Editor
If you've tried the above methods without success, you can attempt to fix the Internet connection issue on Chrome by changing the Registry Editor. Follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

Step 1: After booting into Safe Mode, open the Run window by pressing Windows + R, then type Regedit and press Enter or click OK.
Step 2: In the Registry Editor window, navigate to the following path to access the registry file for Internet Settings:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER => Software => Microsoft => Windows => Current Version => Internet settings
Step 3: Next, locate and delete the Proxy Override, Proxy Server, Proxy Enable, and Migrate Proxy files as shown below. After completion, restart the system to apply the changes.
Step 4: After the system restarts, click on Settings =>Advanced Settings, similar to opening the Internet Properties window from the Network section. Then, in the Connections tab, click on LAN Settings. Here, uncheck the Use a proxy server for your LAN option and check Automatically detect settings.
Click OK to save the changes and try reopening the Chrome browser to see if the issue persists.
Method 7: Reset Chrome to its Default State
Follow the steps below to reset Chrome to its original default state and fix the Internet connection issue on Chrome:
Step 1: Enter chrome://flags/ in the Chrome address bar and press Enter.
Step 2: Next, click on the Reset all to default button to reset Chrome to its original default state, then click Relaunch Google Chrome.
Finally, check if the issue persists.
Method 8: Force Quit and Restart the Browser
In case Chrome encounters the Internet connection issue, you have two options: either click the X icon to close Chrome or press Ctrl + Alt + Del (on Windows) or Cmd + Option + Esc (on Mac) to force quit Chrome.
