1. Install the correct version of Unikey
Mismatching Unikey's 64-bit version with 32-bit Windows can lead to unusability. Ensure you download the appropriate Unikey version for your operating system.

2. Run as Administrator
Some software on your computer needs to run as Administrator to function properly, and Unikey is no exception. To do this, right-click on the Unikey icon on the screen -> Select Run as Administrator
3. Activate Vietnamese typing mode
Starting Unikey without switching to Vietnamese input mode keeps you in non-accented typing mode (English typing). To activate Vietnamese input mode, follow these steps: Click on the arrow icon in the bottom right corner of the screen -> Find letter E and click on it to change to letter V. This way, you have successfully activated Vietnamese typing mode on Unikey.
4. Configure Vietnamese typing settings
Incorrect input method configuration is one of the main reasons for the accent input issue on Unikey. To fix this, follow these steps:
Right-click on the Unikey icon -> Check Predefined Unicode -> Click Control Panel.
The next window appears, where you configure:
+ Encoding: Unicode
+ Input method: Telex
Next, select the Expand option.

5. Remove other Vietnamese input software
Having multiple Vietnamese input tools on your computer may cause conflicts and lead to the current issue. Therefore, you need to uninstall any previously installed Vietnamese input software to restore Unikey's normal operation. To uninstall software on your computer, follow these steps:
Click on the arrow icon -> Type in the keyword: Control panel -> Select the first line with the same name
Next, check the Programs option.
Then select Programs and Features
Locate other Vietnamese input software on your computer besides Unikey and uninstall it by right-clicking and selecting Uninstall.
