Fixing VivaVideo Hangs, Abrupt Closures, or Unresponsiveness
Method 1: Force Close the App
When mobile apps in general, and VivaVideo in particular, become unresponsive, you can force close the app and restart it afterward.
- On iOS devices running iOS 12 or later, from the home screen, swipe up, and on iPhone 8 or earlier, double-tap the Home button to display the open apps. Then, swipe the app window upwards to close it.
- On Android, tap the Overview button (the small square icon at the bottom of the home screen) to display the active apps. Then, swipe the app window upwards to close it. Alternatively, go to Settings > Apps > VivaVideo and tap the Force stop button.
Many issues can be effectively resolved simply by restarting the device. Therefore, when encountering VivaVideo hangs, restart your smartphone and see if the problem has been resolved. Restarting a mobile device depends on the model of phone you are using.
- On iPhone 8, X, XS, XR, and later models, simultaneously press and hold the volume up button and the power button until the Slide to Power Off prompt appears. On iPhone 7 and earlier models, press and hold the power button until the Slide to Power Off prompt appears. After the device shuts down, wait for a while and restart the phone.
- On Android, the simplest way to restart your Android smartphone is to press and hold the power button for a few seconds and select Power Off. Wait for your mobile device to completely shut down and press the power button to turn it back on.
Method 3: Check for Latest OS and App Updates
Sometimes, the latest version of VivaVideo may not be compatible with the current operating system version on your smartphone. Therefore, check for the latest version of the operating system and the VivaVideo app on the app store. If the latest update is available, proceed to update it, and the VivaVideo hang issue may be resolved.
Method 4: Check App Permissions
Third-party apps like VivaVideo may encounter issues if not granted certain permissions. Therefore, go to settings, find the app, and grant the relevant permissions.
Method 5: Free Up Storage Space
If the system memory is insufficient, some apps may crash unexpectedly. In this case, you should free up some storage space to ensure that there is at least 20% of memory capacity available.
Method 6: Ensure Stable Internet Connection
Slow or unstable network connection can also lead to VivaVideo app errors. If using Wi-Fi, you can switch to mobile data for testing or vice versa. The app may encounter issues when switching from Wi-Fi to mobile network, so first, you can close the app, then perform the switch to avoid unwanted occurrences with your project in VivaVideo.
Method 7: Report the Issue to the Developer
Finally, if all the above methods and any other methods you can think of are not effective, you can contact the support department of QuVideo Inc HERE to report the issue you are experiencing.
