1. Guide to Flipping Upside Down Photos on iPhone running iOS 13
- Open the Photos app and tap on the photo you want to edit.
- At the top left corner of the screen, tap Edit.
- Next, click on the crop icon as shown in the image below.
- At the top left corner, you tap on the flip icon. It looks like two triangles divided by a vertical line with opposing arrows above.
- To save the flipped photo, simply tap Done.
2. Guide to Flipping Upside Down Photos on iPhone with Third-Party Apps
If you're unable to download iOS 13 or haven't installed this OS version yet, utilize the following photo editing apps to flip upside-down images.
* Adobe Photoshop Express

Photoshop Express is a free photo editing app for iOS, offering numerous helpful editing tools. Here's how to use the app to flip or rotate an upside-down image on iPhone.
- Open the Photoshop Express app. By default, it opens in the All Photos view, displaying all the photos in the Photos app. If you want to view photos in a different mode, simply tap the downward arrow next to All Photos and choose the desired photo source.
- Tap Edit at the top of the screen and select the photo you want to edit.
- Tap the Crop icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Click Rotate below the image and select Flip Horizontal to flip the image horizontally or Flip Vertical to flip it vertically.
- Use any other editing tool such as adding filters or adjusting colors, then tap the Share icon at the top of the screen. It looks like a box with an upward arrow.
- Tap Camera Roll to save the flipped image back to the Photos app or scroll down and select another option.
* Snapseed
Download the app here:
- Open the Snapseed app and select the photo you want to modify.
- Tap Tools at the bottom of the screen and choose Rotate from the newly appeared menu.
- At the bottom of the screen, you'll see an icon with 2 arrows pointing towards each other. Tap on that icon to flip the upside-down image.
- Tap the checkmark at the bottom right corner of the screen to save the changes.
* Photo Flipper
Unlike Photoshop Express and Snapseed that offer a variety of photo editing tools, Photo Flipper is an app designed specifically for rotating and flipping images. You can follow these steps to rotate upside-down images on iPhone using this app:
- Open the Photo Flipper app (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/id749627884) and tap on the image icon located at the bottom left corner of the screen.
- Choose the image you want to edit.
- Once the photo is loaded in Photo Flipper, swipe your finger horizontally or vertically across the image to flip it.
- Tap on the share icon at the bottom right corner of the screen to save the image to the Photos app.
Above are the ways you can apply to flip upside-down photos on iPhone. Of course, if your device is running the latest iOS 13 version, this process will be a bit simpler.
