This actor filmed a steamy scene with his mother watching attentively from start to finish.
Steamy scenes have always posed a challenge for actors, especially newcomers. However, one actor received unexpected encouragement from family members when tackling his first intimate scene.
This unprecedented experience befell actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse during his involvement in the acclaimed comedy Superbad in 2007. He seized the opportunity to partake in his first steamy scene in his career.
Sharing his experience on The Rich Eisen Show, Mintz-Plasse revealed that the ordeal wasn't entirely comfortable. While filming the steamy scene for Superbad
'Of course, my mother couldn't be by my side all the time, but when I filmed the steamy scene, she made sure to be there, without fail!', Mintz-Plasse shared about this unforgettable moment since the inception of his acting journey.
When asked how he felt, Mintz-Plasse affirmed he was extremely uncomfortable and awkward with his mother present during his steamy scene. He confessed: 'At that time, I was still a 'newbie,' so I didn't have any experience. I was genuinely terrified, but when I looked at the monitor, I saw my mom enjoying popcorn and chatting happily with the director...'.
In the end, Mintz-Plasse speculated that the reason his mother was present during his first steamy scene was likely because, at that time, Plasse wasn't yet 18 years old. Concerned that her son lacked experience and might face obstacles, she didn't hesitate to be on set to watch over and cheer him on. This was actually a legal requirement set by the film crew to ensure the safety of young actors. Fortunately, Mintz-Plasse successfully completed this challenging scene for Superbad.
This isn't the only instance of mothers 'interfering' with the Superbad project. Actor-screenwriter Seth Rogen revealed that it was his own mother who contributed a 'comic relief' to the script for Christopher Mintz-Plasse's character, McLovin. It involved McLovin using a fake ID, falsely claiming to be 23, but then getting 'caught' when getting intimate with a girl 'not yet 18.'
Mintz-Plasse frequently takes on supporting roles in Hollywood's renowned comedy projects, such as Kick-Ass, Neighbors, and Pitch Perfect. However, perhaps Superbad still remains the most memorable film in the 80s actor's career, earning him the Breakthrough Performance Award at the MTV Movie Awards.
