Memory Integrity feature is one of Windows' security measures that helps the system combat the widespread malicious software on the internet. This feature is almost always enabled by default on Windows 11 as well as on newly sold computers. However, if for some reason you accidentally turned off this feature, here's how to enable Memory Integrity on Windows 11.
1. Understanding Memory Integrity
In Windows 11, Memory Integrity is a robustly integrated feature within Windows Security/Windows Defender. This feature safeguards memory integrity through encryption, also known as HVCI (Hypervisor-Protected Code Integrity), leveraging CPU's VBS (Virtualization Based Security) feature.
VBS utilizes Windows Hypervisor to create virtual machines for verifying Windows viruses within a virtual environment, ensuring that they are system viruses, which will then be automatically removed. This provides absolute protection for your computer.
2. How to Enable Memory Integrity on Windows 11
Step 1: Press Ctrl + Shift + ESC to open Task Manager and select the CPU section
Step 2: Ensure Drivers are up-to-date and there are no redundant Drivers on your machine. Right-click on This PC and select Manager > Then navigate to Device Manager and ensure there are no devices with yellow marks.
Step 3: Right-click and select Update Driver to update them to the latest version.
Step 4: Open the Settings app > Privacy & Security > Device Security.
Step 5: Here, you proceed to the Core isolation section.
Step 6: Enable the Memory Integrity feature.
After a while, you'll see a restart notification if the activation is successful.
