According to the National Meteorological Forecasting Center, this winter tends to be warmer than usual, with temperatures slightly higher than the multi-year average (MYA). There will be 3-4 cold spells, lasting 2-5 days each, occurring from late December to early February 2023, interspersed with a few warm sunny days.
Regarding rainfall from December 2022 to February 2023: In the Northern region, precipitation is lower than the MYA by about 5-15mm. However, in December 2022, some areas in the Southern delta and coastal provinces of the Northeast have rainfall approximately equal to the MYA for the same period.
Central Region: In December 2022, rainfall in the North Central region is approximately equal to the MYA, with provinces from Quang Binh to Thua Thien Hue receiving 60-130mm more rainfall, while provinces from Da Nang to Binh Thuan receive 150-250mm more, some places exceeding the MYA by 8. In January-February 2023, rainfall in the North Central region is approximately equal to the MYA, while the Central and South Central regions receive 10-40mm more rainfall than the MYA.
