Apple unveiled 4 new iPhone models at the September 12 event, featuring impressive upgrades over their predecessors. Recently, YouTuber Mrwhosetheboss conducted a battery comparison test among the iPhone 15 models and older ones to determine the ultimate battery life leader.
iPhone 15 Battery TestAccording to 9to5mac, Apple has been touting the efficiency of the 3nm A17 Pro chip, leading many to expect the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max to dominate the battery test. However, the results show that the iPhone 15 Plus is Apple's current battery life champion.
In the latest battery test video by YouTuber Mrwhosetheboss, iPhone 15 Plus delivers an incredibly impressive result of 13 hours and 19 minutes of continuous usage. This figure surpasses the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which only achieved 11 hours and 14 minutes. Meanwhile, despite also using the A17 Pro chip, the iPhone 15 Pro falls short with only 9 hours and 20 minutes of usage before shutting down.
Meanwhile, equipped with a 4,352 mAh battery, it achieves a quite impressive result of 11 hours and 19 minutes, trailing only behind the iPhone 15 Plus and 15 Pro Max.
All iPhones in the test are brand new, fully charged, and used for various tasks until the battery runs out. This is a rather surprising result because Apple's own technical specifications page states that the iPhone 15 Pro Max has the longest streaming video playback time at 25 hours compared to 20 hours for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Plus. However, Apple's announcement is based solely on continuous video playback, while Mrwhosetheboss's test includes tasks such as watching TikTok, Zoom chatting, video recording, etc., more akin to daily user activities.
