After their moment in the limelight, these child stars gradually dimmed and slipped into obscurity.
Not every child star has the stamina to pursue acting to the very end. Some names, once incredibly famous and universally known, couldn't sustain their fame through the journey of growing up. Some manage to reclaim their glory at a mature age, while others completely fade away from the spotlight.
Quan Kế Huy
In the '80s, the name Quan Kế Huy shone brightly on the Hollywood screen through the blockbuster Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Portraying the mischievous Short Round, he captured hearts with his adventurous spirit. Alongside Harrison Ford, they formed a dynamic duo in the film.

After Indiana Jones, the Vietnamese-born star born in 1971 disappeared from Hollywood for three decades. Only this year, Quan Kế Huy made a surprising comeback, grabbing attention in Everything Everywhere All at Once alongside Dương Tử Quỳnh. He is set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the second season of Loki.

Mackenzie Foy
Once causing a sensation as Bella's daughter in Twilight, Mackenzie Foy was predicted to be the next Hollywood beauty. The child star born in 2000 appeared in blockbusters like The Conjuring, Interstellar, and even charmed with Disney in The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.

However, after the disappointment of the latter film, Mackenzie Foy failed to rise and gradually faded into regrettable obscurity. Now in her twenties, Foy only participates in small independent films, showing no signs of returning to major projects.

'Ocean Girl' Marzena Godecki
No '90s audience is unfamiliar with Ocean Girl, or the beautiful lead Neri played by Marzena Godecki. Despite defeating 500 candidates for the role in Ocean Girl, Godecki abandoned public expectations to carve her own path.

After Ocean Girl, Marzena Godecki attempted to cling to acting but without success. She devoted time to education, then pursued a career in sales and graphic design. Now, she has a private family life, living discreetly and no longer connected to the entertainment industry.

The Karate Kid Trio
Karate Kid stands as one of Hollywood's beloved martial arts films among Vietnamese audiences. The trio of Dre - Trinh - My Anh won hearts for being the central storyline throughout the movie. The success of Karate Kid in 2010 set the stage for these three names to reach new heights in acting, but reality had different plans.

The lead, Jaden Smith, is the most famous name in the trio as the son of actor Will Smith. After Karate Kid, he had numerous film opportunities, even sharing the screen with his father. However, in recent years, Jaden Smith has been relatively absent, not appearing in blockbusters as before. Similarly, Hàn Văn Văn (portraying My Anh) stepped away from acting for a private life. Only Vương Chấn Uy, the 'antagonist' Trinh from Karate Kid, remains actively involved in the film industry, primarily in stunt roles.
