However, not everyone knows how to adjust formatting, size, and text effects with Aegisub when creating subtitles for videos. Adding text effects will make our subtitle lines more dynamic and appealing, preventing viewers from feeling bored.

Adjusting formatting, size, and text effects in Aegisub

Step 1: To adjust text formatting in Aegisub, use the fn tool located above.

Step 2: Here, you'll find the Font window displaying various functionalities.

- Font: Select font type
- Font Style: Choose font style

Size: Adjust font size
- Effects: Choose between Strikeout or Underline.
- Sample: Preview text sample
- Color: Select text color
- Script: Choose font style. For example: Vietnamese with accents, Arabic script, Thai script, etc.

After making your selections, click Ok to apply changes.

Step 3: After making adjustments, your subtitles will be adorned with symbols before and after.

Step 4: Create text effects using Aegisub.

Click on Edit to commence text effect creation. In the Style Editor dialogue box, you'll find editing options:

- Style Name: Name your effect
- Font: Adjust font type, size, bold, italic, underline, strikeout
- Color: Modify primary, secondary, outline, and shadow colors.
- Margins: Align left, right, top, and bottom margins in pixels
- Alignment: Align text to screen or Numlock keypad style
- Outlline: Adjust outline thickness, shadow, and shadow blur
- Miscellaneous: Scale text, rotate on Y-axis, adjust spacing, encoding type

- Preview: Preview the changes.

Once adjustments are made to your liking, click Apply to preview. Click Ok to confirm.

Step 5: You can see the result after clicking OK. The subtitle position is set to position 4 on the Numpad.
