Bluesky app is considered as a new competitor to Twitter with many similar features. Users can post updates with images by selecting the plus button. Additionally, Bluesky offers familiar features such as search, following users, and viewing their posts on the timeline.
Bluesky social network officially launches
Bluesky was established in 2019 as a subsidiary project sponsored by Twitter. Subsequently, Bluesky branched out and established its own company in 2021. Co-founder of Twitter and former CEO Jack Dorsey views this as a more open alternative to the currently controversial Twitter.
According to Dorsey, social media should not be subject to control by companies or governments, and only authors should have the right to delete content on their social media. Furthermore, while agreeing with the decision to ban Donald Trump on Twitter on January 6th, he also expresses concern that the precedent of this incident could impact global Internet freedom.
In fact, Twitter users have begun seeking an alternative social media platform like Mastodon since Elon Musk took control. In the future, Bluesky could indeed be a competitor to Twitter with a direction that aligns with the majority of users.
