Free Fire stands out as one of the rare mobile games to surpass the 1 billion download mark. Despite being initially developed by a Vietnamese team, the game faced polarizing reviews upon release by Garena, with most criticisms targeting its graphics.
However, recently, following the release of Forspoken, the online community is backpedaling and extending apologies to Free Fire. This is because Forspoken's graphics and gameplay have been heavily criticized by players, deeming it unworthy of being a blockbuster in early 2023.
Of course, this is just a playful comparison because despite Free Fire undergoing a graphics upgrade with the Free Fire MAX version, it still can't be compared to Forspoken, regardless of how unattractive Square Enix's game may appear.
However, it cannot be denied that Forspoken is genuinely causing discomfort among players due to its 'atrocious' graphics. Many players even feel like they're playing a PS3 game when experiencing it on the new Next-gen platform like PS5. This truly underscores how criticized Forspoken's visuals are.
Returning to Free Fire, this game was released for Android and iOS in December 2017 by Garena Studios and developed by 111dots Studio (Vietnam). Similar to other mobile Battle Royale games like PUBG Mobile and Clash Royale, it is tailored for low-spec smartphones. Each match consists of only 50 players and typically lasts for just 10 minutes, much shorter than PUBG Mobile, allowing Free Fire to appeal to a wide player base worldwide.
