Today, a teardown video of this laptop has been uploaded online, providing us with a detailed glimpse into its internal components.
One of the most significant differences between the M3 and M3 Pro models lies in their cooling systems. The M3 Pro boasts two fans to cool the chip, while the M3 utilizes only one fan. This difference could be attributed to the M3 Pro housing a more powerful chip that generates greater heat. Additionally, the M3 Pro features a larger cooling system compared to the M3.
Furthermore, the 14-inch M3 comes equipped with two storage modules, theoretically eliminating the speed bottlenecks of its predecessor, the M2, which housed only one module. This implies that the MacBook Pro 14-inch M3 will deliver faster storage performance than the Air M2.
Introducing the MacBook Pro 14-inch M3.Despite these differences, the overall design of both MacBook models bears striking resemblance. Internally, they predominantly feature modular components, facilitating easy component replacement. However, certain components are locked, such as Touch ID and the lid tilt sensor. These components are soldered to the logic board and cannot be replaced without specialized tools.
Overall, iFixit has provisionally rated the new models with a 'repairability' score of 4 out of 10, with the expectation that components and user manuals will be provided through Apple's self-repair programs.
