The status of the shielded hero, Naofumi, undergoes a significant transformation, leaving viewers exhilarated after a frustrating season 1 of Shield Hero.

The second season of The Rising of the Shield Hero begins with a battle against Linh Quy. Faced with the threat of the giant turtle, Naofumi accepts the queen's plea to stand alongside the knights of Melromarc and the allied forces of the kingdoms to stop Linh Quy. Many viewers find satisfaction in episode 3 as the Shield Hero is now held in higher regard than in season one.

In the first season, many viewers expressed frustration at the injustices and bitterness Naofumi endured due to false accusations by Princess Malty, even being called the 'Devil of the Shield.' However, in season 2, the Shield Hero has become a symbol of hope, fostering unity among the kingdoms and boosting soldier morale. The change in people's perception of Naofumi promises smoother adventures ahead without the pursuit of the Melromarc royal family.
In episode 3 of season 2, the kingdoms convene and agree to unite against Linh Quy and seek ways to eliminate this monster before it destroys the world to collect souls. Despite his gruff demeanor, Naofumi, the sole knight in the crimson robes, agrees to join the battle. This choice doesn't truly please the Shield Hero, as he only feels comfortable fighting on a smaller scale and standing shoulder to shoulder with close comrades. However, amidst the disagreement among the allied kings and their ineffective strategies, Naofumi is forced to take on the leadership role in the battle. This is a significant improvement from his stubborn attitude in season 1.

Despite Linh Quy being a formidable adversary causing heavy losses to the alliance in the battle, Naofumi is performing better than ever. With Rishia joining the team, Naofumi's travel group has significantly improved in combat ability. Under the guidance of the Shield Hero, each member fights very effectively to inflict damage on Linh Quy. Additionally, Naofumi's presence helps boost morale for the soldiers; upon seeing his banner, they appear very joyful. This positive attitude contrasts sharply with what happened in season 1.
Although season 2 of Shield Hero seems simpler than the first, it unfolds in a very intriguing direction. The arcs of Raphalia and Filo are strengthening, while Naofumi is gradually mastering his shield. Episode 3 demonstrates Naofumi's credibility; his status has changed significantly. Personally uninterested in this attention, Naofumi still reacts positively to it and maximizes it in battle.

This commendable progress also reflects everyone's recognition of the Shield Hero at a higher level than the hastily hot-headed trio of Ren, Itsuki, and Motoyasu. While the other three heroes may be stronger than Naofumi, they are limited in leadership ability and strategic vision. Initially shunned by them, Naofumi now seems to have become the strongest.
