In recent years, the prices of cameras and lenses have continued to rise. However, somehow, Fujifilm's latest medium-format camera, the GFX 100 II, comes with new features but is significantly more affordable than its predecessor.

Fujifilm has just announced its new GFX100 II camera during a live stream at the X Summit from Stockholm, Sweden. Along with a new sensor, the camera features a new autofocus object detection capability and 4K full-width video recording. The new camera is priced at 7,499 USD (approximately 181 million VND), which is 2,500 USD (around 60 million VND) lower than the GFX100.
At first glance, the GFX100 II resembles the more budget-friendly GFX100S version it replaces. Fujifilm's new camera has a shorter, smaller, and lighter body compared to the previous generation. The camera's electronic viewfinder can be detached, and there's an additional grip pin option. The EVF quality has been upgraded with OLED, a resolution of 9.44 million pixels, and a magnification of up to 1.0X.

Internally, the Fujifilm GFX100 II still features a 102MP resolution sensor, but it's the new CMOS II HS type coupled with the X-Processor 5. With a size of 43.9 x 32.9mm, it's significantly larger than full-frame, measuring 1.7 times more. This allows the camera to have an ISO range from 80 to 12,800, expandable to 40-102,400. It also upgrades continuous shooting performance to 8fps compared to 5fps on its two predecessors.

But that's not all; the Fujifilm GFX100 II also features automatic object detection autofocus and the ability to record ProRes 10-bit 4:2:2 to SDXC or dual CFexpress Type-B memory cards. Fujifilm has also enhanced the video recording capabilities of this camera, reaching resolutions of up to 8K/30p and 4K/60p.

Lastly, the Fujifilm GFX 100 II comes integrated with Frame.io, a cloud file uploading platform without the need for additional accessories. With this platform, users can send high-resolution RAW or JPEG photos or videos directly to the cloud just seconds after capturing, using the built-in Wi-Fi or Ethernet LAN connection in the camera.
