As you can see above, the Galaxy A73 5G is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 778G 5G chip, which a year ago I considered the most powerful Snapdragon processor in the near-premium segment. Currently, this throne may have been taken over by the more powerful Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. However, in my opinion, the Snapdragon 778G 5G is still very good for today's Android phones or 'aging' products like the Galaxy A73 5G.

- Performance rating of Galaxy A73 5G after 1 year
To give you an idea of the power of the Snapdragon 778G 5G on the Galaxy A73 5G at present, I will use some specialized performance rating software such as Geekbench 6, 3DMark, AnTuTu Benchmark, and the specific conditions are as follows:
- The device battery must be between 90 - 100% (battery below 90% will affect the device performance and results).
- Do not charge the battery while benchmarking.
- Benchmark 3 times continuously and take the average result after 3 benchmarks.

Firstly, in terms of GeekBench 6 and PCMark software of Galaxy A73 5G, I evaluated that the results are still very good at the moment and even better than other devices at the same price range currently. The results obtained are as follows.
- GeekBench 6:
- GPU Compute (graphics score): 1,897 points.
- Single/Multi-core score: 834 points/2,903 points.
- PCMark: 11,774 points.

- 3DMark Wild Life Extreme score of Galaxy A73 5G after 1 year:
- Total score: 689 points.
- Average FPS: 4.1.

Let's move on to the next test, 3DMark Wild Life Extreme, to check the device's ability in handling light graphics tasks of Galaxy A73 5G at the current time. The total score I obtained in this test is 689, and the average frame rate is 4.1 FPS. When compared to the launch time, the difference is negligible.

- 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test of Galaxy A73 5G after 1 year:
- Highest loop score: 692 points.
- Lowest loop score: 689 points.
- Difference between highest and lowest loop score: 3 points.
- Stability: 99.6%.

As for the most intense 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test, Galaxy A73 5G still maintains a stability of 99.6%, with a slight difference compared to its launch time. This is evidenced by the difference between the best loop score and the lowest loop score of 3 points (692 - 689) and 2 points (691 - 689) respectively. Furthermore, the temperature and battery life of Galaxy A73 5G after 1 year also show minimal fluctuations upon completing the test (temperature only increases from 32°C to 36°C, battery drops from 100% to 95%).

Based on the benchmark scores above, I can say that the performance difference between Galaxy A73 5G after 1 year and Galaxy A73 5G at launch is almost negligible. So, people can somewhat confidently use 'her' for daily tasks or purchase it at the current time. But what about gaming? Let's find out more!
- Gaming Experience on Galaxy A73 5G after 1 Year
As for the gaming experience, I really enjoy using Galaxy A73 5G more than other phones. Firstly, the size of Galaxy A73 5G is designed very reasonably to play most current games. Not to mention the Snapdragon 778G 5G chip for smooth and cool gaming for extended periods. To give you a clearer view, I've downloaded 4 popular and suitable games for Galaxy A73 5G: Arena of Valor, PUBG Mobile, Call Of Duty Mobile, and Honkai: Star Rails. I've set the graphics of these games to the highest level and used the Perfdog software to measure FPS while playing. You can find the results here for your reference.

As you can see below, all three games, Arena of Valor, PUBG Mobile, and Call Of Duty Mobile, perform well on Galaxy A73 5G and match the FPS settings I've configured. However, the rising star in the mobile gaming world, Honkai: Star Rails produced by miHoyo, encounters some difficulties when I push the graphics and FPS to the highest level. You can take a look at the gameplay video and graphics settings below!
- Arena of Valor
- PUBG Mobile

- Call Of Duty Mobile

- Honkai: Star Rail
For miHoyo's new game, the graphics aren't as demanding as Genshin Impact. Players only fight in narrow spaces, but the spell effects are just as beautiful as Genshin's. However, as seen in the video below, Galaxy A73 5G experiences slight lag during movement and casting spells, so I consider this setup a bit too much for Galaxy A73 5G.

Therefore, players may need to lower the graphics settings for the best experience. Additionally, this game isn't fully optimized for mobile devices yet, so it may require some minor updates for better optimization.

In terms of performance, Snapdragon 778G 5G of Galaxy A73 5G after 1 year still performs exceptionally well in both benchmark tests and gaming. Personally, I'm very satisfied with the everyday usage and gaming experiences on Galaxy A73 5G. Compared to many other smartphones released around the same time or recently, I consider Galaxy A73 5G to be a very tough competitor.
Even after 1 year, the 5,000 mAh battery of Galaxy A73 5G still lasts continuously for over 7 hours.
Battery life is certainly a concern for many, especially those who are considering buying Galaxy A73 5G at this time. To provide you with a more comprehensive overview of the battery life of Galaxy A73 5G after 1 year, I will conduct a battery test (according to the standards of The Gioi Di Dong) under the following specific conditions:
- Experience 4 rotating tasks including: Playing Liên Quân Mobile (graphics settings as shown below), watching YouTube, browsing Facebook, and using Google Chrome.

- Each task runs for 1 hour.
- Screen brightness 100%, refresh rate 120 Hz.
- OneUI 5.1 (Android 13) updated.
- External speaker on with 50% volume.
- WiFi and social media notifications enabled.
- Battery saver, adaptive screen, GPS, and Bluetooth off.
- Testing from 100% to 0%.
- Initial battery level: 100%.
Below are the results of the battery test for Galaxy A73 5G that I obtained:

As you can see from the above results, the battery of the Galaxy A73 5G can now last continuously for 7 hours and 35 minutes, which is quite decent. Compared to the 8 hours and 8 minutes at the time of the Galaxy A73 5G's launch, the difference is not significant.

Furthermore, during normal daily usage with basic tasks such as calling, watching YouTube, playing a few games, taking photos, checking messages, etc., the Galaxy A73 5G can last from 8 in the morning until close to 6 in the evening before needing a recharge. This indicates that if you eliminate those conditions, the device will last even longer. Of course, for those planning to buy a new Galaxy A73 5G, the battery life will be even better.

Throughout the past year, I've experienced the cameras of many mid-range and high-end devices, including the 2023 Galaxy A series, but the Galaxy A73 5G remains the device that satisfies me the most in terms of photography. With the main wide-angle camera of the Galaxy A73 5G, the photos always come out with high detail, along with Samsung's color adjustment capability, making the colors vibrant and eye-catching. That's under normal conditions; however, in backlight conditions, the photos still maintain good detail, although the contrast between light and dark areas is not very clear, making the photo less artistic. However, for a mid-range device, I don't expect too much in this regard.

Even in photos taken with the ultra-wide angle lens on the Galaxy A73 5G, it's the same. The only difference is that the edges are slightly distorted, which is a common characteristic of wide-angle lenses on phones.

When capturing a specific object like a flower, the Galaxy A73 5G automatically removes the background, resulting in excellent detail and vibrant colors. When taking portraits in normal conditions, there's nothing to complain about—the essential details like the face and hair are well captured with accurate colors. However, in backlit photos, there's a bit of noise, and due to the recent intense sunlight in Saigon, the photos might appear slightly overexposed, leading to a slight yellowish tone on the skin. Overall, the quality remains good.

Although the Galaxy A73 5G isn't particularly strong in low-light photography, the image quality is still considered good for its price range and surpasses many competitors. Details are sharp, and the light sources are not overly blown out. However, in low-light conditions, the camera struggles with autofocus, resulting in many blurry photos, especially with moving subjects. This is something we have to accept as it's a mid-range device.

Galaxy A73 5G design remains very contemporary
This year, we've witnessed Samsung revamp the design of the Galaxy A Series after 2 years, and even I had high expectations for the phone's new look. The design of the 2023 Galaxy A Series resembles the Galaxy S lineup, making it visually appealing. However, I still prefer the old design of the 2022 Galaxy A Series, specifically the Galaxy A73 5G.

The handling experience of the Galaxy A73 5G is very comfortable for me, thanks to its dimensions of only 163.7 x 76.1 x 7.6 mm and weighing approximately 181 g. Whether I'm using it normally or gaming, I don't feel tired at all. Moreover, the phone's frame and corners are gently curved, so I don't feel any discomfort when putting it in my pocket or holding it with one hand.

The matte plastic back of the Galaxy A73 5G also effectively reduces fingerprint and sweat marks. However, I still recommend using a phone case, even though it may obscure the vibrant and youthful colors of the Galaxy A series. One standout feature of this phone, which I highly appreciate compared to many other competitors, is its IP67 water and dust resistance rating. This means it can withstand unexpected heavy rain without the risk of damage.

Moving to the front, the Galaxy A73 5G features an Infinity-O display and slim bezels, making it very appealing to look at. The screen is large at 6.7 inches, with a Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. With a peak brightness of 800 nits, this display provides an excellent viewing experience under various lighting conditions.

Overall, I still prefer the appearance of the Galaxy A73 5G over the current Galaxy A series. Despite its age, it only grows more beautiful with time, and I would love to see this design return with even higher-quality materials. Therefore, I hope Samsung can bring back this design!
