1. Galaxy Note9 Prices in Vietnam Much More Favorable Than International Markets
In the US, Australia, or Saudi Arabia, the selling prices of Galaxy Note9 are significantly higher compared to the Vietnamese market.
On the evening of August 14th, just 5 days after the Unpacked 2018 event in the US, Samsung held a launch event for the Galaxy Note9 in Vietnam, attended by numerous journalists and fans of the Note series.
The event left a strong impression on viewers with lively performances by dancers, as well as an eye-catching stage design by the organizers. The focus of the event was on highlighting the capabilities of the Note9, with no mention of the Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Home smart speaker as at Unpacked 2018.

The most surprising aspect of this launch event lies in the product pricing. While in markets like the US, UK, Australia, and Saudi Arabia, the lowest-priced Note9 starts at $1,000, $1,145, $1,085, $1,007 respectively, in Vietnam, the 128 GB Note9 starts at only 22.99 million dong (about $981), and 28.49 million dong for the 512 GB version. Prices in Vietnam are nearly on par with the Korean market ($965 for the 128 GB version and $1,201 for the 512 GB version).
Previously, some retailers had begun accepting pre-orders for the product, even though the official ordering program hadn't started yet. The expected prices from these retailers are 24.49 million for the 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage version, and 29.49 million dong for the 8 GB RAM, 512 GB storage version.
'Note9 boasts powerful specifications and a great user experience. Experience is what customers need most right now. If there's anything that makes me feel it's not really perfect, then this is not an all-new Note. The design of the device hasn't changed much due to the upgrade cycle,' said Mr. Mai Trieu Nguyen, Director of Mai Nguyen Luxury Mobile retail chain, speaking to Zing.vn.
'Samsung has learned its lesson when the prices of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ were quite high, nearly 25 million dong, so the number of deposits for these two was not much. This time, Samsung has chosen a more appropriate direction with the pricing of the Galaxy Note9 in Vietnam being quite soft compared to the previous version, at 22.9 million dong for the 128 GB version. The memory upgrade program from 128 GB to 512 GB for free on August 24th for online purchasers promises to create a new craze,' shared Mr. Tran Duc Tin, Head of Marketing at TGDĐ.

Compared to the 64 GB version of the Note8, which is currently listed at around or below 22 million dong, this price level is not much different.
'Compared to the Galaxy Note8, the price of the Note9 doesn't differ much. However, the device has been upgraded with many new and prominent features, such as the Bluetooth-connected S Pen, which allows for remote photo shooting, music playback, or presentations,' shared Mr. Tran Quoc Trung, Head of Sales at Hnammobile.

A minor drawback is that the device is only available in Vietnam in 3 official color variants: mysterious black, ocean blue, and bronze gold. There's no option for lavender purple.
On the flip side, the company offers special benefits for some early customers who pre-order the 128 GB version, which will be upgraded for free to the 256 GB version. However, this offer is limited in quantity.
