According to DisplayMate's Evaluation, Galaxy S20 Ultra Surpasses Competitors to Claim Display Superiority.
1. Galaxy S20 Ultra: The World's Premier Display Smartphone
DisplayMate's Verdict: Galaxy S20 Ultra Emerges as the Epitome of Display Excellence.
At the Samsung Unpacked 2020 event last week, the Korean manufacturer introduced the trio: Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra. According to BGR, this device lineup marks Samsung's most significant upgrade in years.
For comparison, while Apple's top-tier smartphone, the iPhone 11 Pro Max, features a 6.5-inch screen, the S20 Ultra boasts a 6.9-inch display, bordering on small tablet territory.
Samsung prioritizes top-of-the-line technology for its flagship, including the most powerful hardware and a 108 MP camera with 100x zoom. According to DisplayMate, the Galaxy S20 Ultra also claims the title of the world's best display smartphone.
The S20 Ultra features a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and an Always-on display. Although its pixel density isn't the highest (511 ppi), DisplayMate asserts that this smartphone displays colors almost precisely to the standard and with impeccable quality.
Therefore, DisplayMate awards the S20 Ultra an A+. This smartphone also establishes or breaks 12 different records for phone displays. The highest-rated aspects include color accuracy, full-screen brightness, peak brightness, contrast ratio, and display resolution.
'What is particularly important and impressive is that Samsung has systematically improved OLED display quality with every Galaxy generation since 2010, when we started analyzing OLED displays,' DisplayMate wrote in its review.
