As you've seen, the Galaxy S23 is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy. The performance of this processor must be quite familiar to everyone by now, right? Because I've reviewed the performance of the Galaxy S23 as well as many other articles about the power of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy on Samsung devices. Most of these articles praise its performance, well-optimized to meet various light and heavy usage needs.

Furthermore, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy chip also has excellent power-saving capabilities, so most of the high-end devices that Samsung introduces this year are highly rated for battery life. This is also true for the Galaxy S23, so how exactly? Let's check out the test articles below!
Galaxy S23 with a 3,900 mAh battery lasts nearly 8 hours of continuous use
To provide everyone with a more comprehensive understanding of the statement above, I conducted a battery test on the Galaxy S23 following the standards of Mytour.
- Experience 4 rotating tasks including: Playing Liên Quân (graphics settings as shown below), watching YouTube, browsing Facebook, and using the Chrome browser.
- Each task lasted for 1 hour.
- A SIM card was inserted into the device.
- Screen brightness set to 100% and refresh rate set to 120 Hz.
- External speaker on at 50% volume.
- WiFi and social media notifications were enabled.
- Battery saver, adaptive display, GPS, and Bluetooth were disabled.
- Testing from 100% to 0% battery.
Below are the results I obtained:

Accordingly, the Galaxy S23 lasted precisely 7 hours and 43 minutes under rigorous testing by Mytour. Looking at the chart above, you can see that three common apps: Facebook, Google Chrome, YouTube, all have moderate power consumption (9% - 12%), indicating that this phone has good power-saving capabilities for regular tasks. As for Liên Quân Mobile, the Galaxy S23 heated up quickly during extended gaming sessions, hence the rapid battery drain is completely understandable.

However, during normal usage, the Galaxy S23 fully meets my usage needs throughout a long workday. Specifically, I typically start using it from 8 AM until around 8 PM before needing to charge, with mixed tasks such as calling, texting, checking messages, browsing Facebook, playing a few rounds of Liên Quân Mobile, watching YouTube, etc. Therefore, if your basic usage needs are not too high, this device fully satisfies your battery usage needs.

Additionally, the Galaxy S23 is equipped with 25W fast charging to help you quickly replenish the battery. However, due to the lack of an official Samsung charger, I often use the Ugreen 65W charger and Ugreen 100W charging cable. Therefore, the results below may not be completely accurate.

Finally, the result I obtained is 1 hour and 25 minutes when using the Ugreen charger. Additionally, I believe the usage time could be faster if you use the official charger.

Galaxy S23 with a 3,900 mAh battery also provides good gaming time
Furthermore, the Galaxy S23 can deliver a long-lasting gaming experience. To be more specific, I tested 4 popular games currently suitable for the device's configuration: Liên Quân Mobile, Call of Duty, PUBG Mobile, Genshin Impact. The specific results are as follows:
- Play a single game until the battery runs out.
- Screen brightness set to 100%.
- External speaker on and volume adjusted to 50%.
- WiFi and social media notifications enabled.
- Battery saver, adaptive brightness, GPS, and Bluetooth turned off.
- Testing conducted from 100% charge to 0%.
Below are the results I obtained after conducting the test:

- Genshin Impact: 2 hours 51 minutes.
- Liên Quân Mobile: 4 hours 01 minute.
- Call Of Duty Mobile: 4 hours 14 minutes.
- PUBG Mobile: 4 hours 54 minutes.
Thus, the Galaxy S23 can provide reasonable average playtime for all 4 games, ranging from 2 hours 30 minutes and above, especially PUBG Mobile, which goes up to 4 hours 54 minutes. For me, these are suitable usage durations for a 3,900 mAh battery. However, the significant difference between the games is not too drastic. Additionally, these results will be even higher if you eliminate the rigorous test conditions mentioned above.
Galaxy S23 battery still meets normal usage duration needs well
In this section, I used 5 familiar tasks commonly used in daily life: TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Messenger, and Chrome to check the Galaxy S23 usage duration. The specific test conditions were as follows:
- Use only one app until the device runs out of battery (from 100% to 0%).
- Screen brightness set to 100%.
- External speaker on and volume set to 50%.
- WiFi enabled and social media notifications received.
- Battery saver, adaptive brightness, GPS, and Bluetooth turned off.
The results I obtained are as follows:

- Messenger: 4 hours 52 minutes.
- TikTok: 5 hours 18 minutes.
- Google Chrome: 6 hours.
- Facebook: 6 hours 31 minutes.
- YouTube: 9 hours 03 minutes.
Galaxy S23 provides impressive usage duration for light entertainment tasks like social media apps, with times exceeding 4 hours. Among them, YouTube has the highest usage time (9 hours 03 minutes). Therefore, these results are excellent for you to work, entertain yourself throughout the entire day.
