In early October 2023, Samsung launched new products in the FE (Fan Edition) lineup, and these devices have been receiving high praise from users, especially the Galaxy S23 FE. The product boasts a beautiful, youthful design that is equally luxurious compared to its 'older siblings' Galaxy S23 released earlier in 2023. Here are the experiences I gained during the review of the Galaxy S23 FE.

Galaxy S23 FE features a youthful and equally luxurious design
The design of the Galaxy S23 FE can be said to have not surprised me too much when it was first released, because when looking at the product lineup that Samsung introduced this year, I somewhat predicted the appearance of this phone. However, when holding the Galaxy S23 FE in hand, I realized that this is a truly premium product. Specifically, although the device is crafted from a premium metal frame similar to the high-end Galaxy S23 models, it has a thickness similar to the Galaxy A Series.

Additionally, the Galaxy S23 FE comes in various colors such as Mint Green, Purple, White, and Gray, giving users plenty of choices according to their preferences. Most of these colors are very youthful and therefore suitable for young people.

The camera module of the Galaxy S23 FE is still designed in a protruding vertical style from the back. This design gives a seamless look to the overall phone. Moreover, the separate lens design also makes it easier for me to clean the camera.

Turning to the front, the Galaxy S23 FE is equipped with a Super AMOLED display panel, 6.4 inches in size, Full HD+ resolution, and a 120 Hz refresh rate. With these specifications, the Galaxy S23 FE provides vibrant, sharp display quality, which I find very beautiful and suitable for enjoying multimedia content.

As seen above, Galaxy S23 FE in the Vietnamese market is equipped with the Exynos 2200 processor developed by Samsung itself. This chip features an octa-core CPU design based on ARMv9 architecture. Samsung particularly emphasizes the gaming capabilities of the Exynos 2200. Specifically, the CPU of the Exynos 2200 is divided into 3 clusters, including a powerful Cortex-X2 core, three large Cortex-A710 cores, and four small Cortex-A510 cores. Therefore, this phone promises to deliver smooth gaming experiences as well as handle basic tasks efficiently.

Moreover, Galaxy S23 FE offers 2 configuration options for users to choose from: 8 GB RAM + 128 GB internal storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB internal storage. Not stopping there, Galaxy S23 FE is also equipped with RAM Plus feature, expanding the maximum RAM capacity to 8 GB by utilizing part of the device's internal memory. Thanks to this, I can multitask multiple applications on this device without worrying about lag.

To provide a clearer view of the power of the Exynos 2200 on Galaxy S23 FE, I have conducted some performance reviews below. Please continue reading below!
- Performance rating of Galaxy S23 FE
In this section, I'll use some familiar software such as GeekBench 6, PCMark, and 3DMark to rate the performance of Galaxy S23 FE. The conditions for rating are as follows:
- The device's battery must be between 90 - 100% (battery below 90% will affect the device's performance and results).
- Do not charge the battery while rating.
- Rate 3 times in a row and take the average result after 3 ratings.

- Geekbench 6:
- Single-core/Multi-core: 1,534 points / 3,654 points.
- GPU Compute (OpenCL): 8,687 points.
- PCMark: 12,887 points.

- 3DMark Solar Bay:
- Total score: 4,049 points.
- Average FPS: 15.40.

- 3DMark Solar Bay Stress Test:
- Highest loop score: 4,453 points.
- Lowest loop score: 2,828 points.
- Difference between highest and lowest loop: 1,625 points.
- Stability level: 63.5%.

Wrapping up the performance assessment section above, Galaxy S23 FE can be said to have achieved impressive scores. The figures are competitive and compared to other devices in the near-premium segment that I have reviewed, they are not significantly inferior. If I were to point out one area for improvement, the 3DMark Solar Bay Stress Test result may lag behind some other devices. Nevertheless, these scores are primarily for reference and do not significantly impact the overall user experience.
Gaming Experience on Galaxy S23 FE
In this section, I will download 4 popular games today: Arena of Valor, PUBG Mobile, Call Of Duty Mobile, and Genshin Impact to verify the actual performance of Galaxy S23 FE. Additionally, I will use the Perfdog software to record the FPS of each game and related data, which I will provide here for your reference!

- Arena of Valor
Starting with the first game, Arena of Valor, I confidently set all graphics settings to high to have the best experience on Galaxy S23 FE.
Galaxy S23 FE somewhat disappoints me when playing Arena of Valor in terms of visuals and FPS. The device still provides smooth, cool gaming experience, high stability, and quick response for me to execute moves, buy, and sell items. However, the highest FPS I recorded was 45.3, and the in-game graphics seem like they are set to low mode even though I've set them to the maximum. This reminds me of mid-range, cheaper devices rather than a high-end one, which is something Samsung needs to address. Because for a high-end device, I expect stricter standards for graphics and FPS when gaming.
- PUBG Mobile
Next up is PUBG Mobile, where I've pushed the in-game graphics quality to HDR to achieve Ultra Frame Rate.

Playing PUBG Mobile on the Galaxy S23 FE is satisfying for me as the average FPS I achieved is 39, matching the graphics settings above. Additionally, the phone still manages to render in-game visuals very vividly, with decent level of detail.
- Call Of Duty Mobile
Moving on to the fast-paced shooting game like Call Of Duty Mobile, in this game, I can push the frame rate to the Maximum level, compensating for the reduced graphics quality to High.

Regarding the experience of playing Call Of Duty Mobile on the Galaxy S23 FE, it still satisfies me with the overall gaming experience. The average frame rate I measured goes up to 57.7 FPS.
- Genshin Impact
For the last game, Genshin Impact, the Galaxy S23 FE still allows me to set the graphics to the highest level.

With this game, the Galaxy S23 FE couldn't provide me with the best experience at the set graphics level. The device experiences constant lagging, screen freezing, and potential disconnections. Additionally, it heats up rapidly, even after just 5 minutes of gameplay. Therefore, if you want the smoothest gaming experience, it's advisable to set the graphics to low or balanced settings.
In conclusion, the Galaxy S23 FE fully meets my entertainment needs at a good level. However, Samsung still needs to address a few issues soon, especially with Liên Quân Mobile. As for regular usage experience, I have no complaints about this device.
Galaxy S23 FE battery lasts for more than 8 hours of continuous use
In addition to its excellent performance, the Galaxy S23 FE also has another strong point: battery life. Over the past few days of use, the Galaxy S23 FE has perfectly met my usage needs for a day with just one charge. My daily usage needs are not too demanding, just simple tasks like browsing Facebook, checking messages, watching YouTube, playing a few rounds of Liên Quân during lunchtime, etc.

To give you a clearer picture of the battery life of Galaxy S23 FE, I also conducted a test according to the standards of Mytour with specific conditions as follows:
- Experience 4 rotating tasks including: Playing Liên Quân (graphics settings as shown below), watching YouTube, browsing Facebook, and using the Chrome browser.

- Each task lasted for 1 hour.
- SIM card was inserted into the device.
- Screen brightness set to 100%.
- External speaker turned on with 50% volume.
- WiFi and social media notifications enabled.
- Battery saver, adaptive screen brightness, GPS, and Bluetooth were turned off.
- Testing from 100% to 0%.
The specific results are as follows:

As seen in the measurement table above, Galaxy S23 FE can last for 8 hours and 7 minutes under the rigorous test conditions mentioned above. Compared to many other competitors, this figure is competitive and demonstrates that the Exynos 2200 chip not only provides good performance but also efficiently saves power. Evidence shows that the power consumption for both regular tasks and gaming is quite balanced.

In addition, Galaxy S23 FE is equipped with 25W fast charging, allowing you to recharge the 4,500mAh battery quickly. However, as I don't have Samsung's official charger, I often use the Ugreen 65W charger and Ugreen 100W charging cable. Therefore, the results below are for reference only.

Thus, it takes 1 hour and 10 minutes for Galaxy S23 FE to fully charge to 100% using my Ugreen charger. This is a relatively fast charging time, and I don't have to wait too long to charge the device.
Galaxy S23 FE's 50 MP camera delivers stunning photos
In addition to the advantages in performance and battery life, Galaxy S23 FE also has another plus point, which is its camera system. While this phone may not receive as much attention in terms of camera features as other Galaxy S23 variants, the photo quality is still excellent in terms of detail, color reproduction, etc. It can be said that the image quality produced by this phone is only slightly inferior to the premium Galaxy S series and outshines many other competitors.

Before diving into the details, let's summarize all the camera specifications of Galaxy S23 FE for everyone's easy reference!
- Main Camera: 50 MP resolution, f/1.8 aperture.
- Ultra-wide Camera: 12 MP resolution, f/2.2 aperture.
- Telephoto Camera: 8 MP resolution, f/2.4 aperture.
- Selfie Camera: 10 MP resolution, f/2.4 aperture.

In sufficient lighting conditions, Galaxy S23 FE produces outstanding image quality, especially with colors appearing more vibrant than reality, a characteristic often associated with Samsung phone photography. Regarding dynamic range, detail, noise handling, whether in regular, wide-angle, or zoom shots, this phone performs exceptionally well. Additionally, its fast autofocus allows for capturing impressive moments quickly.

When capturing portraits, Galaxy S23 FE still delivers excellent results. Skin tones are rendered smoothly, and AI adjustments are applied to conceal imperfections. This performance remains consistent in both well-lit and low-light conditions.

However, the portrait mode on Galaxy S23 FE is somewhat unusual as it tends to preserve most of the facial imperfections. Therefore, after taking the shot, you may need to perform some post-processing to remove blemishes before sharing on social media.

Overall, if you're not too demanding when it comes to photography, the Galaxy S23 FE will be a good choice.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Galaxy S23 FE is a product with a youthful and elegant design, good performance, strong battery, and beautiful camera. Therefore, this is the high-end device you can consider buying right now.
