Recent leaks indicate the standard 128GB ROM version of the Galaxy S24 will opt for the slower UFS 3.1 storage. It was previously rumored that Samsung intends to keep the next Galaxy S series at current prices, likely by reducing certain features.
Galaxy S24 128GB will utilize UFS 3.1 memoryHowever, it seems this slower memory option is unique to the Galaxy S24 128GB variant. Other models are expected to use the faster standard UFS 4.0 ROM. Samsung has progressively introduced quicker UFS memory versions, becoming a norm for internal storage among Android phone manufacturers.
The UFS 4.0 standard is also said to be 46% more energy-efficient than UFS 3.1 while offering double the bandwidth. Thanks to improved IOPS, faster internal storage could make phones quicker and more responsive, easing app launching and other tasks. However, the general user might not notice this difference with the basic Galaxy S24 model.
