In the lineup, Samsung has facilitated easier battery replacement by using less adhesive and pull tabs. For the next generation of foldable phones, the South Korean company is also planning to introduce similar improvements.

Accordingly, the batteries of Galaxy Z Flip5 and
Galaxy Z Fold5Recently certified by the safety certification agency of South Korea,
Galaxy Z Flip5will feature two batteries with model numbers EB-BF731ABY and EB-BF732ABY. Galaxy Z Fold5 will also be powered by a pair of batteries with model numbers EB-BF946ABY and EB-BF947ABY.

As evident in the above images, all four battery types have pull tabs, making replacement relatively straightforward. All these battery types are manufactured by ATL (Amperex Technology Limited) from China, not by Samsung SDI.
The secondary battery of Galaxy Z Flip5 has a rated capacity of 971mAh, smaller than the 1,040mAh battery of Z Flip4. However, it's currently unclear whether Samsung's new vertically folding phone model will have a smaller battery than its predecessor.
