Two extremes unfolded at the largest LMHT Viewing Party in Vietnamese history.
On April 23rd, the VCS Spring 2023 finals took place, marking the first VCS season under Riot's official management and re-release of LMHT in Vietnam. VCS organizers and VNGGames collaborated with teams to host Viewing Parties in four major cities nationwide: Hanoi, Danang, Nha Trang, and Ho Chi Minh City. This event stands as the largest Viewing Party in VCS history.
In Vietnam's two largest cities, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, fervent fans from both teams gathered, contributing to the success of the Viewing Party. Some fans even traveled long distances to join the largest esports celebration in Vietnamese LMHT history. Renowned figures like Thầy Giáo Ba, Optimus, famous cosplayers, and VCS's beloved MC duo, Remind and Minh Nghi, graced the event in Ho Chi Minh City.
Throughout the Viewing Party at TP.HCM's head bridge, GAM fans were fewer in number compared to SE fans but no less passionate. After SE's main player exploded in the fourth match, the cheers from the yellow-black supporters completely drowned out the rival's fanbase.
Meanwhile, SE fans maintained high energy despite their team trailing 0-2 after the first two matches. The atmosphere among SE fans reignited when the 'Pink Chicken' narrowed the score to 1-2 after the third match. However, as the decisive match began, the SE fans fell silent. The atmosphere was starkly different from before when Slayder continuously exploited Sty1e and GAM members.
After securing the championship title, GAM's owner - TK Nguyen, made a remarkable impression with a double-decker bus parade from Gò Vấp to District 1. This marks the first time in eSports history that a team celebrates a championship in such a spectacular manner.

This professional form of celebration will also help the general audience have a more positive view of eSports, gradually dispelling prejudices about electronic sports in society. Furthermore, these Viewing Parties will further unite the Vietnamese LoL community and Esports in Vietnam as a whole. And this unity will serve as the foundation for the robust development of Vietnamese Esports in the future.
