The reactions from gamers afterward have taken many by surprise.
Typically, when game publishers introduce additional supportive features with a fee, players' reactions tend to be mostly negative. However, in the latest Destiny 2 Lightfall edition, everything is unfolding in a completely different direction. Not only avoiding criticism, the game publisher is receiving enthusiastic responses from players, allowing them to pay to shorten and save playtime.
In the most recent update, Destiny 2's publisher allows players to enhance their character's power by completing a special campaign named Lightfall. More importantly, after finishing this campaign, players can now pay to grant all their other characters the same power level from the start without the need to complete Lightfall again. Simply put, winning Lightfall once and paying a fee allows gamers to save countless hours without having to replay the campaign.
This is undoubtedly fantastic news for Destiny 2 players as they have been consistently requesting this for years. Despite the fee, the ability to change character classes without investing too much time and effort has made everything simpler and more time-efficient. The fee set by Destiny 2 is also reasonable, around 2,000 in-game silver (equivalent to $20, approximately 500,000 VND). However, this doesn't mean you can skip the campaign by paying $20. You still have to complete it first, and the $20 option applies to all new characters appearing afterward.
Essentially, paying to increase this power is a reasonable move as it liberates players from the monotony and fatigue of constantly repeating a campaign. The price offered is also reasonable, making this a rare occasion where the publisher proactively 'dips into the wallets' of gamers and receives such positive feedback.
