As the wave of bans on Chinese apps continues, the popular mobile Battle Royale game, PUBG Mobile, has recently become one of the victims. Now, another well-known survival shooter game is aiming to capture the huge market left by PUBG Mobile in India by introducing Indian superstar Hrithik Roshan as a character in the game.
Garena Free Fire is a game similar to PUBG Mobile, where players parachute onto a map with 49 other players and battle to become the last one standing. However, unlike PUBG Mobile, the game allows you to choose from a diverse list of characters, each with their own unique 'survival skill.'
Recently, Garena - the Singapore-based mobile game publisher, announced a collaboration with Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan to kick off a new campaign in Free Fire, 'Be The Hero.' This campaign will allow players to select Jai, a character designed based on Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, as the first Indian character to be featured in the game.
Hrithik Roshan expressed his excitement, stating: 'I'm thrilled to become a part of the Free Fire universe and the character my team has officially created, Jai, is truly fantastic. I hope all players will enjoy this unique experience.'
With PUBG Mobile exiting the Indian market, Garena Free Fire has quickly seized the opportunity to attract the Indian gaming community with more India-centric content. However, with the announcement of the launch of Fau-G, a game inspired by PUBG Mobile from Indian developers themselves, the competition will become significantly tougher.
Game producer Harold Teo stated: 'At Garena, we believe in the power of localization. By providing our gaming community in India with the unique opportunity to play as one of the most famous Bollywood stars, we aim to reaffirm our commitment to creating memorable experiences for players here.'
