Gen.G's CEO expresses opinions on Faker's significance in the LCK tournament.
Speaking of Faker and his influence on the global League of Legends (LoL) scene, it's never enough. Not only one of the most experienced players still in competition, Faker is undoubtedly one of the most decorated names in the LoL community. Moreover, he holds numerous records in LoL, including the recent longest undefeated streak in the history of the highest-level LoL tournament in South Korea - LCK.

However, it's precisely because of this that the name Faker easily grabs the attention of the LoL community, and every action of his can cause a stir. From the Spring of 2022 until now, Faker has faced quite a few controversies with his statements. Nevertheless, Faker remains a symbol of the appeal of LoL in general and the LCK tournament in particular.

Recently, some data has been discussed within the community, once again related to Faker. It has been noticed that the highly anticipated match between DWG KIA and Gen.G Esports had fewer views than the T1 - Liiv SANDBOX match. It's important to note that DK and Gen.G are two teams currently competing with T1 for the championship title.
Of particular note, the match with the highest views was also a match where T1 participated, specifically the face-off with KT Rolster, amassing a total of 642,859 views. And the top 5 matches with the highest views in the LCK Summer 2022 season, up to now, all featured Faker and his T1 teammates.

Gen.G's CEO Arnold asserts: 'Faker always stands out as the greatest, whether in terms of LoL expertise or in the realm of brand business. The LCK organizers and teams should not take this for granted, especially when looking at the opportunity to elevate the tournament to new heights while Faker is still competing, as people still want to watch this tournament.'
Additionally, the CEO issues a warning: 'I believe all teams (including ourselves), players, and the tournament itself, need to do better in introducing stories about new players, combined with comprehensive social media platforms. Otherwise, when Faker decides to retire, we will face trouble.'

Indeed, Faker's influence on the LoL scene, in general, and the LCK, in particular, has been immense. However, Faker's time is limited, and in recent seasons, there has been much discussion about Faker's retirement. That day, although nobody wishes for it, has come dangerously close, yet so far, no one has shown enough potential to become a new 'Faker,' even if only in terms of professional achievements.
