(Homeland) - Gen.G's player Chovy sets ambitious goals for the 2022 World Finals.
Entering the 2022 World Finals (Worlds 2022), Gen.G Esports (Gen.G) emerges as the most promising contender for the championship. Not only are they the top seed from the LCK region this year, but Gen.G also swept T1 in the LCK Summer Finals 2022 with a score of 3-0. While Gen.G's strength in the Summer Split was well-known, nobody anticipated such a one-sided dominance. Notably, before the Summer Finals, T1 held the title of reigning champion from the Spring Split.
In the current Gen.G lineup, with the exception of Top Laner Doran, all other players are highly esteemed. Core players like Chovy, Ruler, and Peanut had an exceptional Summer Split. Especially, Peanut was hailed as the standout player of the Finals. Ruler struck fear into the League of Legends community with his Zeri pick. As for Chovy, he simply stands as the best Mid Laner in the LCK at present.

Despite the absence of titles, Chovy remains the highest-rated player at Worlds 2022 in many rankings. Consequently, recently, Gen.G's Mid Laner shared: 'I feel glad that people are starting to recognize me. However, actions speak louder than words. Therefore, I seek a valid reason to truly deserve the title of the best. Self-improvement is pivotal at Worlds. But I also aspire to maximize my personal growth to achieve favorable outcomes at Worlds this year.'
Perhaps everyone understands, the 'legitimate reason' Chovy mentions here is none other than winning the 2022 Worlds Championship. In the recent LCK Summer Split, he fulfilled his dream of winning the domestic title. But to truly be considered the best, Chovy needs international accolades. And Worlds 2022 is the last remaining opportunity in this season for Gen.G's Mid Laner to prove himself.

Chovy himself needs a reason to be called the best. Gen.G needs the Worlds Championship title to regain their former glory. For the LCK region specifically, Gen.G's (or any LCK representative's) championship will be a testament to this region's strength against LPL rivals. The pressure on Chovy is immense. But surely, to deserve the adoration of fans, Chovy will have to strive with all his might in the upcoming journey.
