In version 2.3, Genshin Impact will introduce a banner featuring three 5-star characters with an innovative gacha system.
After version 2.2, Arataki Itto and Gorou, two characters introduced by Genshin Impact, will soon make their debut in version 2.3. This follows the drip marketing strategy, gradually revealing new character details to build excitement in the community. miHoYo also employs this strategy to prevent leaks about new characters in the game.

The livestream on 12/11/2021 confirmed the debut of Arataki Itto and Gorou in version 2.3. Players can also anticipate the return of a 5-star Geo character, Albedo, along with new events and storylines related to this character.

A surprising element in version 2.3 is the inclusion of Eula. The Eula and Albedo banners will be introduced simultaneously. This marks the first parallel banner applying the new gacha mechanism (Wisch-2) and is exclusive to returning characters.
According to miHoYo, both character event banners and banners using the Wish-2 mechanism share the same wish count, wish history, and pity system (90-180). However, in the gacha interface, this banner will be separate from others like weapon banners and standard wish banners.

For example, if you've pulled the gacha 50 times on a character banner without success, then in the next 40 pulls on the Wish-2 banner, you're guaranteed to get a 5-star character. Similarly, if a player tries their luck on the Arataki Itto banner but misses, in the next 90 pulls on the Wish-2 banner, they'll receive either Albedo or Eula.
In the latest 2.3 update, aside from the return of three 5-star characters from Mondstadt and Inazuma, the game introduces new weapons and artifacts. Both are said to be associated with Arataki Itto's faction. Players will also embark on story quests featuring this character. Additionally, the Dating Event makes a comeback, featuring Gorou and Beidou as the focal characters.

One of the most anticipated aspects for fans is the continuation of the story 'Chalk and Dragon' from version 1.2. Players exploring this event and storyline will receive a free 4-star weapon for Albedo. Various other events will be organized, primarily to show appreciation and provide opportunities for new players to earn rewards from these events.
