Specifically, Genshin Impact players using English or other languages with Alphabet characters can no longer use 'vulgar' letter combinations like mi, me, ca, fo, lo, lm, ion, uni, etc., in their chat messages. Chinese players are not exempt; for example, Neuvilette's name is censored by cutting off half. There are also bizarre cases like 'ass' being overlooked, but 'asses' being flagged, and saying 'fish' is okay, but adding a period like 'fish!' gets caught!
Faced with the absurdity of this censorship update, players joke that sooner or later, they will have to communicate in Hilichurl language or spam expressions in miHoYo's Twitch stream channel. This new censorship is also compared to other game filters, renowned for being extremely strict due to the large player base of children.
