For years, the Start Menu, Action Center, Taskbar, and other areas on Windows 10 have featured a relatively dark interface. However, the operating system still starkly contrasts with white elements like context menus, pop-ups, and attribute menus.

According to insider sources, Microsoft is finally exploring the option of supporting a dark mode interface for areas with a more vintage design, aiming to enhance overall consistency when using the dark theme on Windows 10.
It's also possible that Microsoft is experimenting with different versions of the dark mode to create a more 'uniform' appearance. Unfortunately, there are still no signs of dark mode support for such areas in the preview builds.
Notably, a series of Windows 10 changes will be introduced alongside WinUI, a separately maintained and distributed UX platform. WinUI is regularly updated and currently focuses on rounded corners with Fluent Design effects.
As part of WinUI, modern context menus in UWP apps will also look more appealing with redesigned rounded corners. Microsoft will also make some adjustments to the Action Center, drawing inspiration for the user interface from WinUI.
Reports have also unveiled that the new user interface of Windows 10 might make its debut in the spring preview builds, with a general release likely by the end of 2021.
