The Provincial People's Committee of Cà Mau has just unveiled plans to organize the “Cà Mau Crab Festival – 1st Edition 2022” with the theme “Cà Mau Crab – Culinary Cultural Rendezvous.” This provincial-scale event will run from December 23rd, 2022, to December 31st, 2022.

The event aims to boost the promotion of the image and brand of Cà Mau crabs and various local specialties to domestic and international tourists. It provides opportunities for businesses in the fields of tourism, gastronomy, handicrafts, and more to meet, showcase products, and establish collaborations with the expectation of promoting the local brand and attracting tourists to explore new tourism routes and experience new crab-related dishes.

Cà Mau crabs have been recognized by the Vietnam Records Council as one of the top 100 specialties in Vietnam. In this edition of the “Cà Mau Crab Festival,” the Organizing Committee plans to invite organizations, individuals, and businesses in the gastronomy sector to participate in a culinary competition, set records for dishes made from crabs, and organize a crab buffet. Additionally, they will jointly receive the Asian record for the 'U Minh Fish Sauce Hot Pot.'

In addition, Cà Mau organizes various cultural and artistic activities such as dragon and lion dances, opening ceremonies with traditional drums, and street circus performances. Alongside these, the Folk Music Festival featuring Đờn ca tài tử from three provinces - Cà Mau, Bạc Liêu, and Sóc Trăng, promises to be captivating, scheduled for December 24-25, 2022. The event will include performances, providing opportunities for local residents and tourists to explore more about Cà Mau's culinary and cultural heritage.
