In early February, Xiaomi introduced a new model named Xiaomi Civi 2 Hello Kitty Special Limited Edition. Essentially, this is a special edition of the Civi 2 released a few months ago. The Hello Kitty themed edition, a fictional character from Japan, will be a special gift exclusively for women.

As an incredibly special edition of the Civi 2, which is a smartphone Xiaomi focuses heavily on photography, especially quality selfies, Xiaomi Civi 2 Hello Kitty will also have unique packaging. The box of the device will feature the distinctive red color of the 'Hello Kitty' character, accompanied by accessories including a fast charger, USB-C cable, and a pink case accentuating the product's beauty.

Xiaomi Civi 2 Hello Kitty primarily uses three colors: red, pink, and white to highlight the theme of 'Hello Kitty.' The Hello Kitty character stands out with its characteristic pink tone, so the back of the Civi 2 Hello Kitty is also adorned with red-pink outlines around the camera frame, as well as depicting the image of Hello Kitty.

Notably, the Hello Kitty images engraved on the back can transition from the original white color to pink when exposed to sunlight. The operation is quite similar to the color-shifting back seen on the V and S series devices introduced recently.
Highlighted on the back of Xiaomi Civi 2 Hello Kitty is the main camera system consisting of three primary lenses: a 50MP wide-angle lens using the Sony IMX776 sensor similar to Xiaomi 12S, a 20MP ultra-wide-angle camera with a 115-degree field of view, and a 2MP macro camera. Overall, this triple camera setup is sufficient to meet the needs of young users.

On the front, Xiaomi Civi 2 Hello Kitty is equipped with a 6.55-inch display, using a premium 10-bit AMOLED panel, FHD+ resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. This display supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, has a brightness of about 1000 nits, a 3D curved design on both edges, and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

Notably, similar to the images Xiaomi released before the launch, the Civi 2 features a dual pill-shaped selfie camera design quite similar to the Dynamic Island design. This is also the first smartphone in the Android world equipped with dual selfie cameras but placed the punch-hole in the center of the top edge of the screen. Most Android smartphones with dual selfie cameras will place them in the top left or top right corner.

In terms of specifications, the Civi 2's dual selfie camera setup both have a resolution of 32MP, including a standard angle camera and an ultra-wide-angle camera with a 100-degree field of view for group selfies. Additionally, the device comes with dual flashlights on both sides to support low-light selfie needs. Xiaomi also integrates various beauty selfie modes and color filters to help young people capture 'virtual life' selfies.

In terms of performance, similar to the standard version, Xiaomi Civi 2 Hello Kitty is equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chip rarely seen in mid-range smartphones today. The device has 8GB or 12GB of RAM, 128GB or 256GB of storage, however, the special Hello Kitty edition only has a single memory option of 12GB/256GB. The battery capacity is 4500mAh, supports 67W fast charging with the included charger, not reduced like its predecessors.

Just like other special editions, Xiaomi pre-installs a Hello Kitty theme on the Civi 2, including app icons, ringtones, etc. The device runs on Android 12 with MIUI 13 interface, upgradeable to MIUI 14.

Regarding the price, Xiaomi Civi 2 Hello Kitty edition is priced at 2799 RMB, equivalent to about 9.7 million VND, unchanged from the listed price at the time of Civi 2's launch. The product is exclusively available in the Chinese market starting from February 9th.
