Unlike previous updates, the Google Chrome 108 version does not receive any 'feedback' on new features from the Safari development team at Apple, Mozilla, and web developers.
Google Chrome 108 has been launched
Due to extremely low usage and feedback from technical parameter editing tools, the ImageDecoderInit.premultiplyAlpha feature will no longer be available in Chrome 108.
Similarly, the navigationEvent.scroll() function has ceased to function and is replaced by restorescroll() for improved performance. navigationEvent.transitionWhile() is also removed and replaced by intercept() as web developers have identified design flaws.

Additionally, the googIPv6 property: false in mediaConstraint, used to disable IPv6 in WebRTC, is now also 'phased out' because IPv6 is the default protocol. Similarly, window.defaultStatus and window.defaultstatus are also being 'phased out' by Google due to concerns regarding fingerprinting security issues, low compatibility, and limited usefulness.

Furthermore, some features have been removed after being tested in developer trial versions. Firstly, Google has disabled the behavior allowing web payment API to bypass CSP connect-src policy while fetching declared file loads for better data security.
The second feature is the PaymentInstruments API due to security flaws and objections from other browser vendors. Similarly, seller's origin details will also be removed to enhance user privacy.
In addition to the features that have been removed, Chrome 108 has enhanced the COLRv1 font with comprehensive technical parameters and entirely new 'transformation' functionality. Alongside this are some notable CSS changes such as:
- Support for CSS break-after, break-before, and break-inside properties.
- CSS Overflow for replaced elements.
- CSS Values and Units Module Level 4: viewport units Small/Large/Dynamic/Logical.
- Extension of font-tech() and font-format() functions for CSS @supports.
- Event ContentVisibilityAutoStateChanged.
- Last Baseline Item Alignment.
- Support for tech() function in @font-face src: descriptor.
- CSS 'lh' Length Unit (developer trial version).
Other features and changes accompanying the Chrome 108 update include the ability to resize the on-screen keyboard on Android in default visual viewing mode, Federated Credentials Management API improving privacy, printing support in LayoutNG, and updating asynchronous methods to synchronous in SyncAccessHandle in the File System Access API.
Some minor enhancements have also been implemented, such as additional methods for Array and TypedArray classes, the ability to use symbols as keys in WeakMap, modifications to Client Hints Header, and support for wildcard characters in policy Permissions. Additionally, Workers can now utilize API Media Source Extensions (MSE) and a new API NotRestoredReason for Back-Forward Cache.
Chrome 108 will officially 'dock' in a few hours. In case the browser doesn't update automatically to Google Chrome version 108, you can access the Help section =>About Google Chrome to update to the latest browser version.
Additionally, according to information updated by Mytour, Chrome version 109 will debut on the Beta channel on December 1st, and the final stable version will be released on January 10th next year.
