This unique keyboard is named Gboard Bar.
Google Japan has just launched Gboard Bar, a physical keyboard that is 1.65 meters long, featuring only one row of keys, astonishing many users.

According to Google, this different design of the Gboard Bar compared to conventional keyboards will bring many benefits. Specifically, arranging all keys into a single horizontal row will help users find keys more quickly by scanning from top to bottom until finding the desired key.
Additionally, the Gboard Bar is very suitable for use on work desks filled with stacks of documents as it takes up less vertical space.

This keyboard is only wide enough for a small cat to pass through and is moderately thick. Google Japan provides specific dimensions of the device.
In addition to its unique design, this keyboard offers ergonomic benefits and promotes user health by allowing them to stretch their arms and legs naturally while typing.
Google Japan revealed that this innovative keyboard has many uses beyond word processing, such as serving as a versatile stick to reach distant objects, a trekking pole for hiking, or even a ruler for measurements, and it can also be used as a mosquito swatter.
According to 9to5Google, due to the keyboard's excessive length, users can share it with friends, resulting in significantly faster typing speeds when two people type together on the keyboard.
Manufacturers also recommend that programmers purchase this keyboard together for collaborative programming to increase efficiency.
Explaining the creative idea behind the Gboard Bar, the tech company stated that the new design, spanning the entire row of keys horizontally, improves navigation compared to conventional keyboards.
In addition to the regular Gboard Bar keyboard, Google also plans to develop a version with emoji keys and LED lights for gaming enthusiasts. Moreover, Google has shared a dataset on Github containing instructions for users to create their own customized keyboard according to their preferences.
According to XDA Developers, this horizontally elongated keyboard measuring 1.65 meters may simply be a playful stunt by Google to encourage users to use the Gboard virtual keyboard available on iOS and Android. This virtual keyboard is equipped with a range of impressive features that enhance users' typing experience.
