Google is rolling out support for dark mode for the Sheets, Docs, and Slides apps on Android after a period of delay. The search giant has brought dark theme to its services and products like Google apps. The company states that dark mode 'will intelligently adjust the interface of the product and user-generated content' to make the apps more useful in darker environments.

When this feature becomes available, apps will follow the system theme settings. However, as usual for most apps, users can enable the light theme through settings for each individual app by going to Menu > Settings > Theme > Dark. Additionally, users can preview how their content will look in dark mode by tapping on the three-dot icon and selecting view in light theme. Content colors remain unaffected by theme changes.
The ability to switch to a darker theme is a welcome addition for those who prefer this mode across the system and other apps. The company notes that the feature is rolling out to all G Suite customers and individual account users starting now. However, the deployment is staggered, and Mountain View company says it may take over 15 days for this feature to be available to all customers. Currently, there's no information on when theme options will be provided to iOS users.
